Hornaments - Magnetic Hood Ornaments; Dressin’ Your Ride Stampede Style

Now everyone can be Boss Hogg for a day with a set of magnetic novelty bull horns for the hood of your car or truck. No bull riding experience or Cadillac required. Giddy Up!

Calgary, Alberta – June 7, 2010 – There is a new, bullish product on Calgary’s streets redefining the “running of the bulls” and the “cattle drive”. Hornaments – which utilize light weight plastic, rare-earth magnets and non-abrasive rubber pads – securely attaches to the metal hood of a car or truck within seconds and without the help of tools.

Why Hornaments? “Bull horns are a powerful symbol which resonates with many Albertans,” says co-founder Janet Vielguth. “More than that, they are a fun way to show one’s Stampede spirit during one of the most festive times of the year, the Calgary Stampede. Showing your hockey team some love with a car flag is wonderful, but as Albertans our roots run much deeper.”

Very few would ever consider mounting a real set of bull horns to their main mode of transportation – which requires the drilling of holes etc. “Being able to quickly mount and un-mount Hornaments to the hood of your jalopy is a key feature of the product,” explains co-founder Paul Moon. “Unlike a bull rider’s ambition, it certainly takes less than eight seconds to get them on your ride! It’s just as easy to throw them in your back seat or trunk when you’re done driving.”

Hornaments retail for $29.95 at all Calgary Lammle’s locations, the Calgary Stampede Store and online.

Hornaments Join Western Industry’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Tough Enough To Wear PinkTM initiative has raised over US$5 million since 2004 for breast cancer research and charities.

Calgary, Alberta – September 21, 2009 – Freshatch Inc., the creator of HornamentsTM – bull-horn shaped, magnetic, customizable, temporary hood ornaments used on passenger vehicles – is pleased to announce its partnership with the Tough Enough to Wear Pink (“TETWP”) Western Industry Campaign in support of breast cancer research.

Supporters of cancer research (including rodeo committees, event organizers and the public) can purchase Hornaments together with the pink Holstein cow decal (decorative label exclusive to the TETWP Campaign) which are available online here and during select western themed events and venues throughout the year. A portion of proceeds will be directed to the TETWP Campaign as well as local and national cancer research organizations.

“We are honoured to join Tough Enough to Wear Pink and other Western Industry players in such an important campaign,” says Paul Moon of Freshatch. “Breast cancer and other forms of this disease unfortunately touch many individuals including the families and friends of those affected. We believe the use of Hornaments by the public can play an integral role in raising further awareness and funds for the TETWP campaign and other important charities in a fun and unique way. We look forward to unveiling some rather dynamic events here in the City of Calgary, home of the world famous Calgary Stampede, and strongly believe that the support of our city will help inspire others to take part in this work.”

About Tough Enough to Wear Pink

Tough Enough to Wear Pink? was created by entrepreneur and breast cancer survivor Terry Wheatley to bring the sport of professional rodeo and the western community together to rally against breast cancer. Since its inception in 2004, TETWP has empowered rodeos and western events in the U.S. and Canada to focus attention on the need for a cure. To date, the campaign has raised over US $5 million for breast cancer charities, much of which stays right in the local community. The grassroots movement has inspired other sports communities to mount their own TETWP campaigns, spreading a message of hope and support that reaches beyond the rodeo arena to competitors, families, and fans across North America.

Hornaments Stampede onto Western Scene

Finally! Something to match the power of the cowboy hat, cowboy boots and the western belt buckle.

Calgary, Alberta – July 28, 2009 – Freshatch Inc.(“Freshatch” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the launch of HornamentsTM, Canada’s first bull-horn shaped, magnetic, temporary hood ornament for use on passenger vehicles. Hornaments – which utilize light-weight plastic, strong magnets and non-abrasive rubber pads – securely attaches to the metal hood of a car or truck within seconds and without the help of tools. Hornaments will be available for purchase online and during select western themed events and rodeos throughout the year, a listing of which can be found at www.hornaments.com. The Hornaments website is also complete with photos, video, and purchase information.

Few western heritage products enjoy the messaging power, accessibility and iconic status of the cowboy hat, boots and belt buckle. Hornaments are expected to quickly join the likes of these stalwarts as purchasers complete their western ensemble prior to and during the many rodeos and events throughout the year.

In addition, Hornaments can be customized with a decal, proudly displaying slogans and company / event logos, transforming it into a unique advertising tool for those organizations searching for a new, dynamic messaging platform.

“The best part of using Hornaments is that you don’t have to be Boss Hogg or drive a Cadillac DeVille,” says Paul Moon of Freshatch. “Growing up in western pride rich Alberta – and perhaps watching a few episodes of The Dukes of Hazard – may have contributed to the idea of Hornaments. I don’t know many people who would permanently mount a set of real bull horns to the hood of their car, so Hornaments was a clear, fun solution.”
